GP4Streets third Advisory Board Meeting

On 30 July 2026, the GP4Streets team held its third Advisory Board meeting, bringing together project partners and external advisors to share progress and discuss the next steps for creating greener, healthier and more climate-resilient streets.

The meeting brought together 17 participants, including GP4Streets researchers and Advisory Board members from local government, national organisations and the wider green infrastructure sector.

During the meeting, the team shared updates on the project’s work across Surrey, Bristol and Bath, including:

• Collecting household and street-level evidence to understand local opportunities for greening.

• Modelling how green and blue-grey infrastructure can support better air quality, flooding reduction and more comfortable streets.

• Learning from resident interviews about how people use, value and experience local green, blue and grey spaces.

• Developing the GP4Streets decision-making tool and practical DIY guidance cards to help communities and decision-makers explore suitable greening options.

Advisory Board members provided valuable feedback on how GP4Streets can make its tools and guidance clearer, more practical and easier to use. Discussions focused on how modelling can support local decision-making, how communities can be encouraged to take action, and how long-term maintenance and local ownership can be supported.

The feedback will help shape the next stage of GP4Streets as the team continues developing practical, evidence-based resources for improving streets and neighbourhoods.
